KWC 2008 Finland

KWC 2008 will be held in Lahti, Finland at the brand spanking new Lahti Hall. Finland's premier entertainment centre will be transformed into karaoke central for the entire event. While the international finalists battle it out at the Karaoke World Championships international finals in the main arena, three karaoke bars will be open for general karaoke - pop, classic and heavy rock - allowing everyone to get a piece of the action. Live music and dancing will also be available.

Lahti Hall will become Karaoke Central! Come and join us for the karaoke celebration of the year!

  • Featuring performances by KWC 2007 Champions, Lu Hee Wah from Malaysia and Julie Walter-Sgro from Australia.
  • The event will be opened by the Ambassador of Japan, Mr. Hitoshi Honda and greeted by the City of Lahti and the Government of Finland.
  • The party continues with entertainment featuring Arja Koriseva & Tomi Markkola until 1.00am
  • Pop, Classic & Heavy Rock Karaoke bars will open at 9.00pm.

    The game is on! All competitors will perform two songs of their own choice over two rounds. While the judges deliberate, the Scandinavian Hunks Show and Frederik will take to the stage to entertain the crowd before the announcement of the lucky finalists who will continue on to the third round on Saturday.

  • The announcement of the finalists who will compete in Saturday's final.

    The elimination rounds continue until the five best women and five best men are left standing. From these ten singers, two will be chosen as the new Karaoke World Champions for 2008. Celebrations will include an extraordinary indoor fireworks display and the Finnish Eurovision Finalists, 'Teräsbetoni'.
